Kat’s verdictChoose the owner account, intended members and required VIP slots before creating or joining a Family Group. The official screen says a created group cannot join another group, and a member cannot later create one. Test the current transfer route with a small amount before moving meaningful resources, especially across alliances.

Create once, regret at leisure

Evony’s official announcement says Family Groups are created under Settings → Account. It also says the group cannot be deleted and established links cannot be removed. A May 2026 official support reply quotes the creation screen more plainly: once an account creates a group, it cannot join another; once it joins another, it cannot create its own. An empty group still counts. Customer Support may review a mistaken setup, but the replies promise review, not reversal. Use the account that should remain the long-term hub. Count the owner separately from member slots. Open every proposed account’s Family Group screen rather than trusting memory. If an invitation from the wrong owner is still pending, reject it and resend from the intended owner. Official support also says a deleted account can remain bound until Support reviews an unbind request.

VIP buys slots, not an undo button

The official launch reply lists one member slot at VIP 1–10, two at VIP 11–14, three at VIP 15–18, four at VIP 19–22 and five at VIP 23–25. Treat that as the published schedule and confirm the current screen before using VIP progress as a solution. For example, an owner plus three member accounts needs three member slots, which the published table places at VIP 15–18. Reaching the tier does not repair a group created by the wrong account.

The fee changed. The alliance rule is muddy.

The October 2024 official reply said Family Group exchanges included transportation, plundering and Royal Waybills, and that ordinary transport fees still applied. An April 2026 official reply explicitly changed that point: transportation between Family Group members had been optimized and no longer required transport fees. That later dated statement supersedes the launch-era fee answer.

Cross-alliance guidance is less tidy. A May 2025 official reply says players in different alliances cannot transfer resources even inside one Family Group. An October 2025 reply says Family members may belong to different alliances and describes cross-alliance resource transfer as allowed. These statements answer slightly different questions, but they are not safe enough for an irreversible account plan. Confirm membership, then test the exact current route with a trivial amount. Record the sender’s cost, receiver’s gain and any daily limit before moving billions. A missing fee is useful. A missing billion is a meeting.

A five-minute commitment audit

Write down the intended owner and members, but keep account IDs private. Confirm whether each account already created or joined a group. Compare the required member slots with the owner’s current VIP screen. Separate safe resources, which a February 2025 official reply says cannot be sent, from transferable resources. Note any displayed daily limit. Family exchanges are officially allowed and do not share login access, but normal account security still applies. If alliances differ, run the smallest useful test and capture the result privately. Only then accept invitations. Family Group is infrastructure, not a social badge.

If the group is already wrong, stop adding members. Save screenshots of the current group and the intended arrangement, then contact in-game Customer Support from the affected account. Do not promise yourself that leaving an alliance, deleting an account or waiting for a reset will free the slot; official replies say those paths do not reliably unbind it.

Evidence limits

The official announcement and its dated EVONY TEAM replies are the strongest public evidence found. They also preserve changed and conflicting guidance. No accessible independent specialist guide supplied a better current rule set, and no private-account transfer test was performed. Current in-game warnings, slot counts, fee previews and limits take priority. This guide does not treat Family Group membership as permission to share credentials, sell accounts or ignore other game rules.
