Do the subtraction before the training
Ghosting is the player term for placing troops in waiting alliance rallies so they are outside the city during an attack. Count only troops you intend to keep out of city combat. Deliberate defensive troops belong to the defence plan, not the hiding ledger.
Emergency hide capacity = usable ghost-rally capacity + current Bunker capacity
Exposure gap = troops intended to hide − emergency hide capacity
Training headroom = emergency hide capacity − troops currently intended to hide
Worked example: 6 usable marches at 1,800,000 each provide 10,800,000 spaces. The Bunker shows 800,000. Total emergency hide capacity is 11,600,000. An army with 12,400,000 troops intended for hiding has an 800,000 exposure gap. Training another 1,200,000 raises that gap to 2,000,000. The event bar moves. The arithmetic also moves, although with less confetti.
The Bunker is a cupboard, not a parallel universe.
Count capacity you can use, not capacity you admire
- Marches: open every ghost preset and record its displayed capacity. Add them separately. Do not multiply your largest march by every available slot.
- Availability: a march that is gathering, reinforcing or already in a real rally is not emergency capacity unless recalling it is part of the plan.
- Bunker: use the current troop limit displayed in your game. Do not assume that a building level, duty general or old guide table equals your live value.
- Execution: count only the rallies you can launch before the hit. A final preset that takes 2 minutes to find is decorative storage.
Know what can break
- Specialist guides and player testing agree that troops assigned to a waiting rally are outside city combat. Public official material reviewed does not document this dummy-rally method.
- Waiting rallies prevent teleporting. Rally cancellation, expiry, recall or a force port can return troops at the least charming moment.
- A boss rally uses stamina. A rally on a player can reveal timing and troop composition to that player and alliance. The cheap target can become expensive information.
- Ghosting does not protect open resources, and the Bunker protects only its displayed limit. Neither turns an unfinished defence into a finished one.
Give the training button a status
- Green: headroom covers the full next training batch and a practical margin. Recheck after any march-size boost expires.
- Amber: headroom is positive but smaller than the batch. Train less, increase usable capacity or accept exactly which troops remain.
- Red: the exposure gap is already positive. Stop calling the next batch ‘just a few troops’. Build the defence and recovery plan first, or keep the queue quiet.
Rehearse before the scoring window
Set the presets, record every capacity, record the Bunker limit and time the launch sequence in a low-risk setting. Verify rally duration and return conditions. Do not remove a peace agreement merely to test. Recalculate after research, Rally Spot changes, generals, march-size items or troop training change the numbers.
If troops must remain, label them before the event: protected in the Bunker, intentionally defensive or accepted exposure. ‘Whatever did not fit’ is not a troop type.

Evidence reviewed 2026-09-29. Official Evony material confirms the Bunker duty building and march-size effects, but the public page reviewed does not define ghosting. The rally method, failure modes and prioritisation are specialist guidance and player testing. Current in-game capacity, timers, event rules and controls are the final check.
Train to the ledger, not to the event bar. Fireworks are brief. Hospitals have excellent memory.
