Give each number its own job
Evony’s official Q&A says a player’s March Size with generals appears in the Rally Spot or dispatch screen. Official general pages separately label Rally Capacity bonuses as active when that general launches Alliance War. That makes the setter responsible for the room, while each participant supplies a march that fits inside it. Capacity is not a loan of the setter’s combat buffs.
Role wording is a second filter. The official Temple of Jupiter announcement from August 7, 2026 lists Alliance Siege Machine Attack, attacking troop buffs and In-Rally Ranged Troop Attack as three separate effects. Count an in-rally line only while the march is in a rally. Count an attacking line only when its attack condition is met. A large profile total that mixes those roles is an excellent wallpaper and a poor joiner audit.
The visible panel is not the whole rally
Two recent player discussions report the same practical result: each participant uses their own buffs although the report may display only the setter or first occupant. One contributor also reports unchanged World Boss damage from the same march under different rally leaders. These are player observations, not an official formula or an independent controlled test by this site. They are still stronger evidence than assuming a single visible panel is shared by every troop.
The same discussions disagree about shared debuffs, including whether the setter, highest value or another participant controls them. Do not promote that disagreement into a rule. Subordinate-city debuffs, reinforcing debuffs and rally debuffs also have different participation conditions. A debuff general who looks useful in one report may have brought only confidence.
Build the joiner that actually arrives
For a joiner contributing meaningful top-tier troops, audit its own main general, active assistant effects, equipment, applicable Dragon or Spiritual Beast, Blazons, Monarch Gear, research and city-wide bonuses. The official Q&A says an assistant can contribute its original Special Skill, Specialties, Skill Books and skin, but not cultivated attributes, ascension, equipment attributes or the attached creature’s attributes. A creature may still be required to activate the assistant’s Special Skill. The requirement can arrive without the creature’s statistics. Evony has found a tidy way to make both statements true.
Then separate three loadouts: the setter that launches and supplies the rally ceiling, a combat joiner that brings substantial troops and its own applicable buffs, and a reward-only monster joiner that should not be copied into PvP. An independent 2026 PvP guide likewise treats troop composition, generals, gear, Dragons and research as parts of the march’s combat strength. It does not establish buff sharing, but it supports auditing the march you actually send.
Use a low-risk two-rally test
Test in a battlefield or another agreed low-loss setting, not during the SvS decision you are trying to understand. Hold the joining march, target, troop layers, attack buff items, Blazons, Monarch Gear and timing constant. Change only the rally leader between two attempts. Compare the joiner’s kills, wounded and surviving troop rows, not only the displayed buff panel. Repeat with leaders whose relevant buffs differ enough to exceed ordinary combat noise. If the joiner result stays stable, that supports own-buff behavior for that setup. If it changes, isolate the exact role effect before spending.
Spend on a joiner, not a screenshot
Do not develop a joiner-only general, Covenant, Blazon set or Historic City effect because the setter’s report makes the combined number look available. First count the joiner’s own active lines and the lines explicitly labelled in-rally. Keep Rally Capacity spending with the setter. Keep unresolved debuff stacking out of the forecast. If a material troop block would be unsafe under the joiner’s own confirmed buffs, reduce it or leave it out. The rally can be brave after the arithmetic has introduced itself.
Evidence limits
Official pages confirm the separate wording for March Size, launch capacity, leading-army effects, assistant contributions and in-rally effects. They do not publish a complete rule for how every participant’s buffs and debuffs are selected or displayed in PvP rallies. Recent player reports consistently support own-buff behavior but conflict on debuffs and multi-owner building defense. No private battle report or account test was used here. Current in-game wording and a controlled test for the exact battle type take priority.
